Demo Design

• After clicking on "Design" in the top menu, you can select from a variety of different topologies for your membrane structure. For our example, we select "Center arch" in order to do the form finding for a membrane structure consisting of six fixed edge points connected by cables and one center arch.

  
  




• Next, you have to enter the required parameter. In this case, we have to specify the coordinates of the six edge points and the height of the arch.
  
  




• After clicking on (you have to be a registered user and logged-in), the software starts the form finding procedure. Within seconds, you can see a preview of the final result.
  
  



• If you want to change your parameters, you can click on "Re-Design" to modify your layout.



• If you're satisfied with your result, you can download the dxf file and use it in your favourite CAD software:
  E.g. you can import your membrane structure to Rhino and use its powerful capacities.
  
  

• Alternatively, you can use the vrml-file (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) to get a impressive 3D view of your structure right in your browser (in order to access this feature, a vrml-plugin has to be installed).
  
  
  
  
• If you don't know what to enter or if always an error occurs, you can use our "default values" for each design: Just click on "sample data" and all required fields are filled with a data set that actually works.
